A and L Accessories is a small business that sells purses, jewelry, Sunglasses and many other miscellaneous items. In the past Ann Clay Harris, the owner/operator had been selling by in home parties and fundraisers. She had been considering opening her first small store but never really pursued it seriously. Thanks to the Danville Boyle County Chamber of Commerce her dream will become reality tomorrow July 8, 2010. The time line is as follows:
Monday June 21:
Ann Clay Harris was diving up Main Street Danville, on her way to do one of her business Parties when she noticed a small store available.
Tuesday, June 22
Ann Clay contacted the property manager to discuss terms and arrange a tour of the vacant store.
Wednesday, June 23
Ann Clay Contacted Paula Fowler at the Danville/Boyle county Chamber of Commerce office for advice on how to begin her business interest in Danville. Paula explained about a new service created by the Chamber of Commerce called Fast Tracks that would help her with all of the required steps that was necessary to open a business in Danville. Paula took the lead and started the Fast Track in motion.
Friday, June 25
Paula arranged a Fast Tracks meeting at the Chamber office and Facilitated the discussion for Ann Clay. Other then the Chamber of commerce, a representative from the following attended, Planning and Zoning, City Codes enforcement and Permitting, the Danville City Manager, the Fire Marshal, Heart of Danville and the City Building Inspector. After a brief detailed discussion and question and answer period, Ann Clay had all the information she needed to get started. Ann Clay signed the property lease that afternoon.
Thursday, July 8
After an aggressive cleaning and stocking schedule A and L accessories opened its first store on Main Street Danville. This was only 17 days from when Ann Clay Harris first found the vacant property and Contacted the Danville Boyle County Chamber of Commerce for assistance.
