Heart of Danville honored at 2012 Kentucky Main Street Awards
The Heart of Danville Main Street Program was recognized as a leader and mentor within the Kentucky Main Street Program on Wednesday, January 25 when it received several awards at the 2012 Kentucky Main Street Awards.
The E-News received honorable mention in the "Marketing and Promotion" category. The Heart Board of Directors received the 2012 Award for Best Organization for the strategic planning procecess.
The Kentucky Heritage Council created a new award recognizing the HOD as Kentucky's Program of Excellence.
“Danville is a rock star in the Kentucky Main Street Program,” said presenter Lindy Casebier, acting director of the Kentucky Heritage Council and deputy secretary of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet. “The Heart of Danville continually seeks new ways to do better, be better, and do right by its community.”
At this exciting event, the Heart was also recognized for its 25th anniversary, one of only two programs in the state to reach that milestone.'
Heart of Danville 25th Anniversary Celebration
Set for 6 p.m. on February 29 at the Evans-Lively Room of Old Carnegie at Centre College, the Heart of Danville's annual event will celebrate 25 years of downtown revitalization. The will have a guest speaker and hand out the organization's annual awards.
