Downtown Danville is home to a number of fine, locally-owned restaurants, and with the recent passage of expanded sales in Danville, the city has rarely tasted so well!



      

The Beer Engine, Danville's oldest microbrewery, is now open! Stop in Thursday-Sunday and enjoy tasty brews created in Danville. Also on tap are a variety of specialty craft beer. Sample, enjoy a pint, or even take home a growler. The choice is yours!




Bluegrass Pub and Pizza-Fire-oven pizza….in Danville! Opened June 2010, Bluegrass Pub and Pizza is already a smash hit! Home to a fantastic variety of pizza as well as tasty microbrews, the Pub is a welcome addition to our downtown, often featuring a line of people out the door, all of whom want a slice.




 

V-The Market-Brand new to downtown is V-The Market, a wonderful specialty store filled with chocolates, bread, and a nice variety of specialty beer! Planning a party or gathering? V-The Market is an essential stop. Grab a growler of whatever ale is on tap, and we promise you’ll leave as a satisfied costumer!



 



The Twisted Sifter Cupcake Shoppe - The building, located at the corner of Walnut and Church Streets near Centre College, looks unassuming. But take one step inside The Twisted Sifter Cupcake Shoppe, and you’ll see a world colorful and bright enough to make Willy Wonka jealous! Even better, the shop is home to the best and most creative cupcakes in the country. Sure, on a daily basis, Owner Pam Blirt offers the basic flavors—including chocolate and vanilla—but she also rolls out an array of amazing specialty cupcakes. Like Guiness Stout? Head over to the Sifter on Fridays for a Dublin delight! Have your own idea for a cupcake? Mention it to Pam. The only limit is your imagination.



 

Pioneer Playhouse’s Palace of Sweets – If you’re in Danville during the summertime, you must check out Pioneer Playhouse. And while it’s currently in its 61styear, in 2010 the playhouse offers something brand new! The Palace of Sweets is now open 7 p.m. nightly before performances. The playhouse offers a variety of ice creams and homemade sauces. Be sure to check this out before watching theater under the stars.



 

The Hub Coffee Shop-Is there better coffee in Kentucky? We don’t think so! Nestled in the heart of our downtown district at the corner of 3rdand Main Streets, The Hub serves a variety of specialty coffee drinks from morning until night. At lunchtime, it offers a large array of sandwiches, salads, and other delicious items. The Hub also features a specialty dinner menu and recently debuted an expanded breakfast menu full of crepes and other goodies to go with its traditionally yummy muffins and baked goods.

 



 

Melton’s Deli-On the corner of Main Street and Wilderness Road, you’ll find a deli unlike any other in Central Kentucky. Melton’s Deli, open only for lunch, has developed a huge following in Danville/Boyle County and converts new visitors each day! We’re sure you’ll enjoy this wonderful lunch spot. Try a “Hot Mammy.” We know you’ll like it.



 

Red Rooster Café-Whether you’re seeking hot toast and eggs or just fun conversation, mornings at the Red Rooster are the place to be! A Danville staple for so many years, many Danvillians start their day at the restaurant, also located on Main Street.



 

Burke’s Bakery-A downtown staple for years, many grown Danville residents recall going to Burke’s for their first doughnut! Stop in at the corner of Main and 2ndStreet for a breakfast treat or post-dinner indulgence. World famous for their Ginger-bread men and noted for their delectable doughnut holes, Burke’s cooks up the nostalgia of an early 1900s bakery on a daily basis. 






Splash into Mermaids, a colorful new restaurant and bar located on the corner of Walnut and 4th Streets. Featuring a glowing blue bar, a diverse and delectable menu, as some of the coolest atmosphere found in Danville, Mermaids is a must-stop location while going on a culinary tour of Danville. Don't forget to try the S'mores!
