Herrington Lake is a popular boating and fishing spot within the county. The rolling
Knobs Lands are a superb area for hiking, while
Old Bridge features a premiere, local 18-hole golf course. The
Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge is another area where visitors can enjoy the splendor of the outdoors. Public parks in the Danville-Boyle County area provide baseball fields, tennis courts and playground equipment for all to enjoy.
The Danville/Boyle County CVB is also a member of
Team Kentucky, the Kentucky Sports Authority's sports marketing group. As a member of this organization, Danville/Boyle County continually tries to recruit sports events and tournaments to the area's numerous facilities, parks, and golf courses.
Sports and Recreation Opportunities:
Public Pool The Danville-Boyle County outdoor pool is open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool complex contains a full-size pool, a "baby" pool for children under age 5, bathroom/shower facilities, picnic tables and a sand volleyball court.
Sport and Fitness Center The Parks and Recreation Sport & Fitness Center contains two racquetball courts, machine weights, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Step and aerobic classes are available for any fitness level. Fee is by individual visit or by the month.
Skateboard Park Located at Millennium Park, the new 10,000 square foot skateboard park is available for skateboarders, in-line skaters and bikers every day from dawn until dusk. Even remote car owners may enjoy the park.
