The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce Launches New Plan to help Lower Health Insurance Costs; UnitedHealthcare Offers Chamber Discount Program

The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce is launching a new health care plan that officials say will help small business owners lower their health insurance costs.

The BC-Plan Plus through UnitedHealthcare and Delta Dental Plan of KY offers Chamber members a significant discount health insurance program. "The plan through UnitedHealthcare offers chamber members insurance rates 6-12% lower than those offered directly by UnitedHealthcare, " said Paula Fowler, Executive Director of the Chamber. "By joining with other Chambers and UnitedHealthcare, this program offers a Multi-Choice plan that fits a business owner's needs. Unlike most association health care plans, insurance agents will receive no reduction in their commission for selling the BC-Plan Plus," notes Fowler. "This was a feature that I had not found in other insurance plans as I've searched the last few years to find something to benefit our membership." All insurance agents in our region who are licensed to sell UnitedHealthcare and Delta Dentalwill be invited to join the Chamber so they can sell the BC-Plan Plus along with our insurance companies that are already members," Fowler explains.
"The long-term success of BC-Plan Plus will depend on the number of employees of Chamber members who enroll. But, combined with the power of numbers of other Chambers, this will not be a problem," says Fowler.
The BC-Plan Plus offers a variety of options so employers can offer one health plan package that includes multiple benefit design options helping business owners to offer each employee the medical benefit coverage they need at affordable prices for the business. Employers can offer employees different options that will allow employees the opportunity to choose the coverage that best suits their individual needs.
UnitedHealthcare Multi-Choice Plan simplifies the enrollment and renewal process while offering Pre-Tax Premium plans, COBRA, administrative services and Flexible Spending Accounts(FSA) at no additional cost.
The way it works:
* A business owner obtaining a group insurance quote from UnitedHealthcare for group health insurance using the BC-Plan Plus franchise discount code will receive approximately 6-12% discount on the overall group premium.
* The group must have 2 or more employees, 75% total group participation with 50% credible waiver, and a minimum 50% employer premium sponsorship on the employee cost
* The insurance broker of your choice must be a member of the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce
* The Employer must be a member of the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce and pay a one-time administrative fee of $125 to the Chamber
The plan is available to employers with 2-99 employees. Members will also be able to purchase dental and vision insurance through Delta Dental with the UnitedHealthcare plan. A Chamber membership starts at $160.
" Although things may change in health insurance in future years, we feel this program will be a huge benefit to our members trying to provide comprehensive benefits to their employees while managing costs," Fowler says. "In these tough economic times, the Chamber is always looking for ways to help our members reduce their bottom line. We think this is one new membership benefit, like our credit card processing program, that does just that", concludes Fowler.
Interested business owners are encouraged to contact their local brokers or to call Fowler at the Chamber (859-236-2361) for additional information or to find out how to receive a quote.
